Plan the handover at both ends
Confirm that the seller or garage has agreed to release the vehicle and that someone will be available with the keys. At the delivery end, check opening hours, unloading space and who can accept the handover. An unattended address or closed workshop can change a simple delivery into an avoidable delay.
Describe the vehicle as it is today
Do not rely on an old sales advert if the condition has changed. Tell us whether it runs and drives, has flat or damaged wheels, can select neutral and has an accessible key. Include modifications, unusual dimensions or a low front bumper that may affect the loading approach. Photos can help explain access or damage.
Birmingham collections and longer-distance journeys
We review transport requests between Birmingham, neighbouring West Midlands towns and other UK destinations. The route and required equipment determine availability and price. Tell us if the vehicle is accompanied by a trailer or if more than one vehicle needs moving; these require a specific assessment rather than a standard car booking.
Your questions, answered.
Can you collect a privately purchased car?
Yes, request a collection with the seller’s release arrangements, pickup location and vehicle condition. Payment for the vehicle itself remains a matter between buyer and seller.
Do I need a breakdown to request transport?
No. Planned collection, garage transfers and private purchase deliveries can be requested even when the vehicle is running normally.
